From countrified rock band on the ’80s Toronto club scene in the era of hair metal and glossy pop, their single “Try” set in motion a long career of headlining across Canada. In 1993, when grunge was king, they recorded their most acoustic album, “Five Days In July,” and sold over a half million copies. Blue Rodeo has always taken the road less travelled, and it’s garnered them 12 JUNO and 17 CCMA Awards, 4.5 million albums sold, Canadian Music and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductions, a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame, as well as the Order of Canada and the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award—and they’re not done yet.
