-The cold and rainy weather that affected much of Alberta this long weekend may not have been great for people who wanted to do some camping, but farmers and those battling wildfires were thrilled.
The wildfire danger around Fort McMurray has been downgraded to low, when it was extreme just last week.
Evacuees were allowed to head back home on the weekend, and the fire is now “being held.”

Environment Canada is working on improving the way it informs the public about air quality issues.
Regions affected by high readings are already marked in red on a map of Canada on the Environment Canada website.
But they’ll soon include a new advisory, to let us know about very high health risks.
Canada had some of the worst air quality in the world last spring and summer because of all the wildfires.

-There haven’t been any reports of sightings since Sunday, but Lloydminster RCMP issued a warning, after a black bear was seen approaching a number of homes in the city that night.
Fish & Wildlife officials warned people to not approach the animal, to keep kids inside, to keep pets inside and only allow them outdoors under supervision..
They were also recommending residents put any food or garbage inside or away, as best as possible.

Chip and popcorn consumption may have risen exponentially during the last ten minutes, when the Canucks started coming back.
But the Oilers hung on to beat Vancouver 3-2 to take the second round series.
Now it’s onto the Western Conference Final against the very tough Dallas Stars, with Game 1 happening Thursday evening in Texas.
It gets underway at 6:30.
The Eastern Conference Final gets underway tomorrow between the Rangers and Panthers.

-Craig Berube has been chosen as the new Head Coach of the Leafs.
He replaces Sheldon Keefe, who was fired May 9th after Toronto was bumped from the first round of the playoffs by the Bruins.
Berube was hired last Friday, after more than five seasons with the Blues.
